Well, it started off with my flight from Huntington to Charlotte, NC being delayed... so of course I thought great I am either going to miss my connecting flight or have to run from concourse E to B to catch my flight out of gate B10... I of course had to run. When I get to gate B10 it's going to Seattle... I thought wait a minute I am going to San Diego not Seattle. So I have to go back and find my gate because my ticket was wrong. Don't forget I am already late... luckily as I was headed back I was able to locate my gate, B6, to San Diego.
Keep in mind that I have never been on a flight over an hour so this flight from Charlotte, NC to San Diego, CA was 5 hoooouuuurrrsss loooooooong.... omg! I was so freakin bored. I had a window seat and the people next to me would just sleep the entire time. Apparently they had been partying it up in NC all weekend for a friends wedding. When they finally opened their eyes I didn't even give them time to stretch before saying... okay since you two are "finally" awake I am going to go to the restroom... they laughed at me... lol
When I arrived at the baggage claim area I tried to pull my bag off and when I did it landed on my toe. This bag weighed at least 70lbs... so it hurt. Then I finally found Karen and we hitched a ride to Enterprise with a guy named Jimbo. Cued for about 30 mins to get my car, a Pontiac G6 silver and all chromed out. Totally sweet but still not my Tucson. We hit I5 north towards LA... did you read that, towards LA... lol I still can't believe I am in California... so awesome. We arrived safely to our hotel all the while following pacific coast line.
We checked in and got our stuff in order and head straight to the hotel bistro to have some lunch. Karen had fish tacos and I had nachos... huge... really awesome chips too. Not those boring old nacho chips you get from a bag... these were so totally awesome... listen to me I already sound like a CA chic. HAHA!
After we had eaten we headed to the beach were I of course fell asleep to the sound of the ocean waves crashing in about 2 feet from me at times. I burned my face and chest... classic move from me though ask my sis she knows all about it. However, the CA sun is not as harsh on one as the FL sun is.
After the beach we took showers and headed out to find my class. Now when you think of a class you think class room one teacher and lots of students in a nice building of sort. Well, honey don't think that here. My class room is in a residential area down a dead end street on a farm and in some dude's garage. I called to confirm that I was in the right spot and he said yeah that throws people off a little... I thought, "ya think"
After finding my class we stopped in at a few shops and hit subway for dinner and then found a huge outlet mall where I looked at some actual coach purses and stopped in Ralph Lauren and bought a pair of shorts and a tee.
We headed back to the hotel, Karen had a cocktail and we hung out by the fire place and listened to the ocean and talked to some people from AZ and CO. Great folks.
We finally retired watching The Goonies as we drifted off to sleep to be awakened by Jason, Karen's BF who forgot that 7AM back home meant 4AM here....
